Canyoning is one of the most enjoyable outdoor sports. However tiring as it may be, at the end of the day you will have the honor of succeeding and feel that it is worth all your efforts. Though canyoning is a real challenge, it can simply be summarized as passing through a canyon using various techniques.
You will pass the deep and tight river bed sometimes by walking and sometimes by swimming and mostly descending using the ropes and the other technical equipment or jumping from the high rocks into the natural water ponds.
While discovering the spirit of the canyon, you will actually discover your own soul and limits.
Ahmetler Canyon Here is the address for the real adventure seekers. Ahmetler canyon, which is in the province of Manavgat, is a passage requiring high performance. Our guides will inform you about the usage of the equipment. After a walk of one hour we arrive to the entrance of the canyon. The speed of the steep passage, starting with a simple walk, increases after a short try and after this step, walking won't be enough anymore.
You sometimes dive into the water through the rock cracks and sometimes jump to the natural pools from 14 meters above the ground. At the exit, you are all heroes having had a victory and you do deserve a barbecue at the lakeside.

Turkey's Aegean shores are among the most fascinating and beautiful stretches in the country. The magnificent coastline, lapped by the clear water of the Aegean Sea, with landscapes of cultivated fields of aniseed, sesame and artichokes dotted with fig and gum trees, will guide you to discover one of the world's greatest windsurfing destinations in Alaçatı bay on the Çeşme peninsula.
With its 1.8 km width, over 5 km depth, crystal clear waters, azure blue skies, consistent and steady winds, topography and location Alaçatı is an ideal windsurfing spot in Europe. Both, the very shape of the bay and the thermal water pressures, create steady and consistent winds blowing side-shore from North to South (Poyraz) in summer and from South to North (Lodos) in winter months.
First time windsurfers love the place as the waist-deep and sand covered shallow water area extends for 500 meters from shore into the bay creating perfect conditions for beginners of all ages. Easy recovery from falls adds a new dimension to both teaching and learning to windsurf.
Consistent steady winds, combined with the best equipment ready and all rigged up steps away from the water is also an opportunity for speed or wave lovers not to miss. In summer, the North wind creates perfect conditions for flat-water high-speed windsurfing, whereas in winter the South wind creates waves steady enough even to please the big wave-funs.
As the coastal plain enjoys an exceptionally mild climate, with soft, verdant springs, hot summers, sunny autumns and warm winters marked by occasional showers. For windsurfing and sun-bathing summer months are ideal, but as the Aegean provides a perfect escapes from rigors of a northern winter even in January and February with mild sunny and pleasant days, wave lovers prefer to visit Alaçatı in winter to mix and match their Xmas holidays with windsurfing.
Whether you live for it or not, we know that the strong winds and crystal-clear waters of Alaçatı are not enough for a solid windsurfing experience. You may be worrying about your equipment, wondering if your friend will be bored when you windsurfing or just want to know the special of the chief. But along with it's natural appropriateness for windsurfing, there are more in Alaçatı for your holiday in Turkey.
Don't worry about your valuable equipment, you may rent your own windsurf storage area where you will find your equipment cleaned and set ready for the next day each night. And in case you need a replacement for your equipment, there is a special windsurf shop covering nearly every item you may need to replace.
While you are on your rest, you can enjoy local or international cuisine served by largely multilingual waiters and allow your mind to coast along in neutral whilst absorbing the sounds, sights and leisurely movements around the panoramic bay. And that's not all. Round the corner on the seaward-side of the bay you can swim, goggle along the reef, scuba dive to explore some of the sunken wrecks or charter a fully equipped boat with widely experienced captain for some deep-sea fishing.
Beach parties, and special Saturday night disco parties are not to be missed. The two piers which serve as watch-decks and filming platform during the day, will be at your service at night, with underwater lighting. If you would want to watch and enjoy the moonlight dancing with the water. How about moonlight windsurfing, a speciality of AWP can be arranged with our staff if you would like to put on a show watched by a large crowd.

In our multi-purposed facility, there are also sites for tents and camping.
People have always thought of rafting as a branch of sports which can be done only by professionals. However, no previous knowledge is required for it. You don't need to have taken a course or private lessons previously. Nevertheless, before you begin the tour you will be provided with the necessary information by your guide on how to paddle, how to sit in the boat and how to follow the commands briefly.

Besides that, Selge city, possessing a rich archeological heritage such as historical castles, aqueducts, bridges and roads from the Roman era, is also entitled as the most popular rafting course of Turkey. It hosts thousands of local and foreign tourists as it is close to the touristic sites like Alanya, Side, Belek and Kemer as well. It also provides the visitors with breathtaking natural views and the opportunity to watch the Taurus Mountains as it flows through the National Park.

CLUB The Marmaris International Yacht Club was founded in 1992 by the yachtsmen and women of Marmaris. Prior to the formation of the club, these people would hold various amateur races between themselves but once the club was set up, they saw an opportunity to create an official get-together and organized the first Marmaris Race Week.
The MIYC has about 80 members today and each year during the Marmaris Race Week, hosts around 120 yachts and 1000 racers from all over the world.
The MIYC has also been the main body responsible for the organization of the Marmaris Yacht Festival for many years. This is an international event which gives the local crewed charter yachts and local agencies to promote themselves and the Turkish coast as a charter destination.
MIYC has started the Yacht and Yacht Equipments Fair with a couple of stands on the first years of the festival. Now it has expanded its activity range with the yacht and yacht equipments fair by organizing it as a separate event since 2001. The fair is organized by the time of festival each year and it provides an extra potential to the region's existing maritime business.
Setur Marmaris Netsel Marina is located in the heart of antiquity and unsurpassed natural beauty, while remaining totally unspoiled unlike so many others areas in the Mediterranean. The coastline of south-west Turkey, where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea, is a paradise for sea kayakers: steep rugged cliffs, deserted sandy bays, deep clear pools, hidden coves and fascinating islands, not to mention a huge variety of sea life and sea birds.
The coastline is dotted with ruined castles and cities. Yet despite its beauty, this coast is rarely visited outside the tourist resorts. And of course the climate makes our area even more attractive for paddling - hot, settled, sunny weather for much of the year, and a relatively warm sea.
Whether you are an experienced expedition paddler, a relative novice, or a total beginner, we have a guided trip to suit you - choose a 1-day, 3-day or 6-day trip, or let us designed a customized itinerary for you. Alternatif Outdoor was the first to introduce sea kayaking to this part of Turkey and we have been running paddling trips here since 1998. We insist on using high-quality, well-maintained equipment and experienced English-speaking guides. Experienced paddlers also have the option of renting kayaks and gear for an independent trip.

We offer a variety of trips, listed below, suitable for beginners and for people with previous paddling experience. We start all trips with a briefing and practice session in the kayaks, to introduce you to paddling techniques and safety procedures. A picnic lunch is provided on all one-day tours, plus transport to the start/finish point where necessary. In the middle of Turkey 270 km south of Ankara lays Cappadocia (Kapadokya) - the heart of the Anatolian plateau. The Zamantı river is flowing from this plateau, pass the Kapuzbaşı waterfalls and crossing the Taurus mountains towards the Mediterranean. This area is our playground.
Rafting expeditions may sound scary to some of us. We know that not all people are naturally born rafters and might not feel at ease thinking about a night in the wilderness. All that does not mean however, that you will not fall in love with it after the first time you will try. As a mater of fact, from our experience, you probably will. To help you get over the fear of the unknown we invite you to read through some frequently asked questions, other people experiences and to have a short overview of what a day on the river looks like.

Day 5 : Soon after breakfast on the riverbank we enter the Wishing Well Gorge in which wishes come true through some white foamy rapids. After a couple of hours of white fun the river evens out and soon we come out of the gorge for a lazy afternoon cruise down the Egener stretch. At the village of Egener, we finish a wonderful trip with a wonderful lunch and a shuttle to Adana. (a shuttle to Cappadocia or Kayseri is also available with previous arrangement).
ZAMANTI RIVER The land of Turkey whose 97% are located on the half island of Asia Minor and 3% in Balkans is shaped like a bowl. To the south the Taurus Mountains ridge lays along the Mediterranean Sea and carries on to the east to join the Himalayan mountains.
The Pontus ridge at the north of the country along the Black sea is an interrupted chain of folded highlands and at the east a high stretch of volcanoes contains the highest mountain in Turkey - Mount Ağrı Dağı), 5.165 meters in altitude. The centre of the country is a volcanic plateau of between 800 to 1300 meters above sea level. The Mountain ridges surrounding the plateau are creating a natural barrier. Rivers that usually flow from the high parts of the ridge towards the lowlands cannot break through those ridges.
Due to the lack of drainage the plateau contains a few salt lakes with the biggest among them, the Tuz Gölü, one of the saltiest lakes in the world (33.5% salt). A rare example of a river that breaks through a mountain ridge is the Zamantı River. Originates in powerful springs located at Pınarbaşı, some 100 km north-east of the big city Kayseri the Zamantı flows south and crosses the Taurus mountains to meet the Mediterranean sea between the cities Adana and Mersin. Coming out of the springs the river curves through the Anatolian plateau some 100 km before it meets with the Taurus Mountains not far from the town of Yahyalı.
The enormous pressure that was generated as a result of the collision between two tectonic plates in this area has created a giant crack across the ridge from north to south. The Zamantı River makes its way through this crack inside a steep and rugged set of canyons south to meet the Seyhan river near the village of Akdam.
The limestone ridge of the Taurus Mountains is rich with caves and water pockets that are trapped inside the rock. The big crack withholding the Zamantı River opened those pockets and released the water to flow out into the river in a spectacular set of springs that increases the flow dramatically around Kapuzbaşı waterfalls near the village of Güney Şelale.
The diverse scenery along the river is consistent of different types of canyons with various geological formations and vegetation that changes due to the constant change of climate as you descend from the Anatolian highlands to the hot and humid Mediterranean. The river evens out as it leaves the Taurus Mountains by the village of Egener and slowly makes its way through the Seyhan power station and the city of Adana down to the Mediterranean Sea.
KIZILIRMAK Situated in the north of the Anatolian plateau the Kızılırmak (red river) is the longest river in Turkey. The Red River originates at the Kцse ridge northeast of the city Sivas, and then flows southwest towards the center of the Anatolian plateau.
It reaches its most southern point near the village of Avanos, which is one of the corners of the Cappadocian triangle, then curves northwest, passes by the capital Ankara and turns north to flow into the Black Sea by Bafra. After passing the city of Sivas, except the occasional rapid, the Red river is mainly calm and wide as it makes its way through the Anatolian plateau with some rapids near the village of Avanos.
The Kızılırmak is flowing through some red clay river beds and is a source for raw materials for the pottery industry that has flourished all along it. The Red River is also a source of water mainly for agriculture and the green valleys surrounding it stand in strong contrast to the dryness of the Cappadocia region.
