Right on the windy tip of the Bodrum Peninsula on the Aegean Coast of Turkey. If you are a windsurfer or a kitesurfers, or you would like to learn windsurfing or kitesurfing and you are looking for a nice, warm and windy place; 12 years ago we found one in Turkey. We decided to build our centre here and make it the best possible.

Because this is the place where we wanted to windsurf as much as we could. We love to share it with our guests. The greatest thing about it, is to see people enjoying their holidays and improving their surfing.

Getting here:
Airports: Bodrum-Milas international Airport 60 km.
We can organize airport transfers by taxi or minibus.
You can rent a car from us and get it delivered to the airport on your arrival.
You can make your own way by taxi or by bus via Bodrum town center.
Other ways to get here are via:-
Izmir (250 km)
Dalaman (260 km)
Greek island of Kos (40 km road, then 45 min ferry to Bodrum) has also an international airport
Fener beach is on the way from Akyarlar to Turgutreis. You can get there by a direct minibus service (dolmush) from Bodrum city center (20 km), from Turgutreis town (6 km) and from Akyarlar village (2 km).
The dolmush service is the cheapest way of traveling on Bodrum peninsula.
You can not miss the only lighthouse of the peninsula midway from Akyarlar village to Turgutreis. The dolmush driver will stop wherever you like.
The centre is next to the lighthouse you won't miss the flags and the windsurfers.

Turkey's Aegean shores are among the most fascinating and beautiful stretches in the country. The magnificent coastline, lapped by the clear water of the Aegean Sea, with landscapes of cultivated fields of aniseed, sesame and artichokes dotted with fig and gum trees, will guide you to discover one of the world's greatest windsurfing destinations in Alaçatı bay on the Çeşme peninsula.

With its 1.8 km width, over 5 km depth, crystal clear waters, azure blue skies, consistent and steady winds, topography and location Alaçatı is an ideal windsurfing spot in Europe. Both, the very shape of the bay and the thermal water pressures, create steady and consistent winds blowing side-shore from North to South (Poyraz) in summer and from South to North (Lodos) in winter months.

First time windsurfers love the place as the waist-deep and sand covered shallow water area extends for 500 meters from shore into the bay creating perfect conditions for beginners of all ages. Easy recovery from falls adds a new dimension to both teaching and learning to windsurf.

Consistent steady winds, combined with the best equipment ready and all rigged up steps away from the water is also an opportunity for speed or wave lovers not to miss. In summer, the North wind creates perfect conditions for flat-water high-speed windsurfing, whereas in winter the South wind creates waves steady enough even to please the big wave-funs.

As the coastal plain enjoys an exceptionally mild climate, with soft, verdant springs, hot summers, sunny autumns and warm winters marked by occasional showers. For windsurfing and sun-bathing summer months are ideal, but as the Aegean provides a perfect escapes from rigors of a northern winter even in January and February with mild sunny and pleasant days, wave lovers prefer to visit Alaçatı in winter to mix and match their Xmas holidays with windsurfing.

Whether you live for it or not, we know that the strong winds and crystal-clear waters of Alaçatı are not enough for a solid windsurfing experience. You may be worrying about your equipment, wondering if your friend will be bored when you windsurfing or just want to know the special of the chief. But along with it's natural appropriateness for windsurfing, there are more in Alaçatı for your holiday in Turkey.

Don't worry about your valuable equipment, you may rent your own windsurf storage area where you will find your equipment cleaned and set ready for the next day each night. And in case you need a replacement for your equipment, there is a special windsurf shop covering nearly every item you may need to replace.

While you are on your rest, you can enjoy local or international cuisine served by largely multilingual waiters and allow your mind to coast along in neutral whilst absorbing the sounds, sights and leisurely movements around the panoramic bay. And that's not all. Round the corner on the seaward-side of the bay you can swim, goggle along the reef, scuba dive to explore some of the sunken wrecks or charter a fully equipped boat with widely experienced captain for some deep-sea fishing.

Beach parties, and special Saturday night disco parties are not to be missed. The two piers which serve as watch-decks and filming platform during the day, will be at your service at night, with underwater lighting. If you would want to watch and enjoy the moonlight dancing with the water. How about moonlight windsurfing, a speciality of AWP can be arranged with our staff if you would like to put on a show watched by a large crowd.

ALAÇATI WINDSURF SCHOOL

Alaçatı Windsurfers' Paradise, has its own windsurf school equipped with MISTRAL and RRD boards and NORTHSAIL and NAUTIX sails. The school provides beginners classes for individuals and groups as well as advanced lessons for windsurfers who would like to improve their techniques. The school also does equipment rentals for customers who simply would like to rent windsurfing equipment. In high season it is recommended to book in advance if there is a need for specific boards or sails. It is also possible to bring own equipment for which storage space is readily available.

WINDSURF LESSONS AND STORAGE

At Alaçatı Windsurfers' Paradise, there are two international windsurf schools (AWP's own Alaçatı Windsurf School and FUN-SYSTEM Windsurf Centre of Germany.) all of which offer rental equipment as well as provide lessons by multi-lingual licenced windsurf teachers for all levels of windsurfers. All stations use at least 80% brand new equipment, all rigged up and ready for customers' needs depending on the wind conditions. Alaçatı Windsurf School is the only Turkish owned windsurf school at Alaçatı and its aim is to serve beginners of all ages. In high season it is recommended to book in advance if there is a need for specific boards or sails. It is also possible to bring own equipment for which storage space is readily available.

Situated in the very middle of Alaçatı Yumru Bay, which is rated one of top ten shallow water windsurf regions worldwide, Active Windsurf Center occupies a fifty-meter sea-shore.

Our VDWS certified windsurfing instructors are all university graduates from Physical Education Department and ready to provide you with top-quality teaching together with our experienced stuff. In order for our clients to fell themselves relaxed while resting on the beach, our center was especially designed wind-protective.

The floor in front of sail & board shed is covered with wood for your safety. Our station is in your service with Fanatic, JP, and Neilpryde surf equipments, approximately 80 boards and 120 sails. Light weight sails are also available for kids.

Have we ever forget our guests who will not do but enjoy watching windsurfers! Of course, we have already considered comfortable mattes, cushions and wind protectors for them. Needles to say wc, hot-showers and cabinets are at your hand.

In Active Windsurf Center, we provide windsurfing lessons for beginners up to advanced windsurfers.

Equipment Rental : Board sails other equipment

Windsurf Gage : Active Box offers you to put your equipment in a safe and clean places that is going to be yours for the time period.

Repair : Active Alaçatı Windsurf Center, has a probational board repair man that can help every one.

WINDSURFING COURSES

Beginner Course
In beginner lesson you will learn the basics of windsurfing, basic moves, basic turns and the basic rotations with our professional instructors.

Advanced Courses
Also we offer advanced level courses which you can learn how to use harness and foot straps, beach start and water start, and the faster turns. You won't believe how much more you'll enjoy windsurfing after getting a grip on the advanced windsurfing techniques

Kid Courses
We can start teaching from 7 years old ,safety is really important for us. We have special light equipment for little kids. ,and we got special equipment for the kids.
