Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club (B.A.Y.K.) has been founded in 2001 to gather lovers of sailing sport. As a sailing club, we aim to encourage beginners from all ages to take up the sport of sailing by providing trainings. Our goal is to promote and facilitate the sport of sailing in Turkey and bring it up to international standards while organizing races that support both sailing sport and tourism. We also intend to develop the friendship and support between Turkish and foreign sailors and make Bodrum the center of sailing sport at Aegean.
Being located in Milta Bodrum Marina and organizing races by using the facilities of logistic and technical support of the Marina, just in three years time, thanks to the races that we organized, B.A.Y.K. has familiarized its name not only in Bodrum's but in Turkish sailing society.
From the day it has been established, with or without sponsor-ship, as B.A.Y.K. we have organized a race every month. Since 2001, with the "WINTER TROPHY" organized between January and May (during 7 weekends, total of 14 races), we provide adventurous racing days to all sailors who love Bodrum during winter season and who enjoys a challenge at Aegean sea. .
In 2002, we became first in Turkey to organize an international race including Kos Island route. With the sponsorship of the globally known men-sportswear garment brand GANT, and Milta Bodrum Marina, "GANT Cup" had been organized where Bodrum-Kos Island leg had been added to the race which brought international identity both to the cup and to the club. Thanks to this identity, our name, B.A.Y.K. has been receiving both the attention and the support from all other sailing clubs in Turkey.
The international identity of the club and the races has continued at the "BODRUM RACE WEEK" as well which is being sponsored by Yıldız Yachting and Milta Bodrum Marina. While the number of boats participated at Bodrum Race week in 2002 was only 9, this number increased to 19 in the 2nd Bodrum Race week races in 2003. Increasing trend continued in 2004 as well and total number of foreign boats registered, reached 25. This increasing trend also signals that we are fulfilling our aim to carry, both the club and the races organized, to an international platform. This increasing trend in participations at such international races and increasing number of B.A.Y.K members indicates the rising quality of the races at Aegean region.
Our one other important target is to promote sailing and provide training to beginners of all ages. Consequently, "Adult Sail Training Programs" has been implemented three years ago to show our determination.
"Lets gather to promote sailing sport and love of the sea to wider spectrum of people". With this slogan, our doors are open to everyone who would like to learn sailing and would like to sponsor either the trainings or the races.

CLUB The Marmaris International Yacht Club was founded in 1992 by the yachtsmen and women of Marmaris. Prior to the formation of the club, these people would hold various amateur races between themselves but once the club was set up, they saw an opportunity to create an official get-together and organized the first Marmaris Race Week.
The MIYC has about 80 members today and each year during the Marmaris Race Week, hosts around 120 yachts and 1000 racers from all over the world.
The MIYC has also been the main body responsible for the organization of the Marmaris Yacht Festival for many years. This is an international event which gives the local crewed charter yachts and local agencies to promote themselves and the Turkish coast as a charter destination.
MIYC has started the Yacht and Yacht Equipments Fair with a couple of stands on the first years of the festival. Now it has expanded its activity range with the yacht and yacht equipments fair by organizing it as a separate event since 2001. The fair is organized by the time of festival each year and it provides an extra potential to the region's existing maritime business.
Setur Marmaris Netsel Marina is located in the heart of antiquity and unsurpassed natural beauty, while remaining totally unspoiled unlike so many others areas in the Mediterranean. The bay has no underwater hazards such as sand banks or rocks so it's extremely safe to approach through VHF, channel 06 and you will be directed by the control tower staff into a berth.
